Our last post mentioned a competition we were running to celebrate our re-branding. Thanks to all of you that entered and said so many lovely things, it means the world to us! A solid Imbuia mid-century sideboard designed and manufactured by EE Meyer for Binnehuis (SA). An outstanding piece of furniture, beautifully designed and impeccably crafted.

Large antique Mortar and Pestle. Made from Yellowwood and carved from a single piece of wood with a beautiful patina and expected wear from a century of use. A fabulous find!

Isn’t it crazy to think that Vamp has been open for SIX years this July? So much has happened since 2009, we’ve been constantly innovating, evolving and growing. After all this time we are finally ready to make one more big change: our logo and branding.

To do that, we called in our amazingly talented friends, Candice Ježek and Simon Berndt. Together, this duo has turned our beloved old branding into something simpler, slicker and a lot more 2015.

Mid-century adjustable wall unit in Kiaat with two sets of drawers. The uprights are screwed directly onto a wall. Reminiscent of the Danish Royal Cado system.

1950’s Oriental liquor cabinet in lacquered black with insets depicting Geisha girls and Oriental scenes. Loads of lovely storage space! One or two small insert parts missing, but hardly noticeable.

Small brown plastic retro table lamp with a frosted glass shade

When I first spotted this handsome pair of light pendants (only one shown, they are identical), I thought they were a 70’s re-interpretation of Gino Sarfatti’s original Sputnik light. On closer inspection I realised that they were much more modern and after a bit or research saw that they presently sell for approximately R4500 at various specialist lighting suppliers including the bulbs (PF48 Chandelier 12v - Astro 48-light + transformer)

They are extremely heavy, so would need a ceiling that could support their weight and would need to be professionally installed. Local delivery only due to weight and packaging constraints.

They have been checked and are in working order with light bulbs. Replacement light bulbs are readily available.
