New vintage kitchenalia and collectables just unpacked at Vamp - 27 June 2016
White milk glass 1930’s hens nest. ‘Lid’ comes off to reveal
the nest underneath. A couple of small chips on the rim (only noticeable if you’re
really looking for them), but otherwise great condition. The piece was manufactured by Portieux Vallerysthal, France.
The classic
Kobenstyle design by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk. Marked Dansk Designs France IHQ
at the base. The Fondue set is in excellent condition and looks hardly used. It
comes with 6 fondue forks.
A classic 1960’s Totem design set by Susan Williams Ellis for Portmeirion (Stoke, England) Consists of: Coffee pot, 6 demitasse cups and saucers, 1 sugar bowl, 1 milk jug. There is a tiny chip to the underside of one of the cups and a bit of age appropriate crazing here and there, but in overall great condition. I think the set must have been made up of two different sets at some point as some of the cups have a glssy glaze and others a matt glaze.
A mid
century orange studio pottery vase
Taalari
pressed glass ashtray designed in 1966 by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi Oy
glass works in Finland. Great condition.
Mid-century
red enamel saucepan made by Finel for Arabia of Finland in the Kehrä
Pattern. There are fleabite chips on the rim and the inside of the pot is clean,
but has lost its shine.

Throwback Thursdays!
#TBT Design Museum Danmark 2012. A glorious day, one I'll never ever ever forget! We started off with the Finn Juhl centennial exhibition (how lucky were we!) exhibiting some of his best furniture and original working drawings and then made our way through the contemporary 20th Century furniture designs. Seeing such an abundance of pieces by prolific Danish designers who's furniture we can mostly only dream of having in our shop or house was, well, a dream come true.#throwbackthursdays

Meet the Team. Part 2
Meet Michael, Paula's partner in crime and co-founder of Vamp. Michael takes care of the furniture restoration and production side of the business and is the designer extraordinaire behind our "made by Vamp' range of furniture. His other interests include collecting miniature cars, old bicycles and vintage cars. He also loves to cycle, paint, drinks red wine and his favourite holiday destination is France. If you happen to bump into him, ask him when his Ford Galexie will be on the road. (and yes, that is a trick question;)
