Vintage portraits at Vamp _31 January 2018

I don't know about you, but I am loving vintage portraits at the moment, in photo or painting form. When Michael and I were in France in December, we saw portrait after beautiful portrait in all the vintage markets.
I couldn't resist these vintage Autochromes that I spotted at a recent auction. Aren't they just MARVELLOUS! I've got one of my great granny in a similar frame that I'm hauling out of storage and putting on my wall soonest.
Please note: the bottom portrait does not fit the frame very well, its a bit small on either side - still fab though! Also, check the measurements below, they are a decent size which doesn't really translate in this photo.

Every now and again we clear up our workshop and ask our staff to create a one-off something or other from all the bits and pieces we have lying around. This is one of those projects. I think it turned out fantastically and can totally imagine it holding the linen in a hotel or B&B or to house a fabulous collection of sorts. Made using solid Kiaat wood with a mirrored backing.

We found another one of these beauties believe it or not!
A set of 6 Nuutajarvi Wartsila coasters - Made in Finland. Wartsila later merged with Iitala in 1988. Beautiful design, could be used as butter pads or for salt and pepper.
Diameter - 8.5cm
Original box includes a full set 6 coasters @ R285 for the set.
