Another vintage Karel Appel print framed exhibition poster.
Printed in The Netherlands in 1984 by the Verkerke Gallery, Amsterdam. The lithograph print poster with a black metal frame and glass, features an artwork by Modernist Dutch painter and sculptor Karel Appel ( 1921 - 2006) titled " L' Oiseau Rouge " created in 1957.
Appel began painting at the early age of 14 and studied at the world famous Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in the 1940's. He was a founder of the Avant Garde movement Cobra in 1948. Artworks by Appel are in the collections of some of the famous museums in the world. He is considered to be one of the most important Modernist Avant Garde artists of the 20th Century.
Very Good vintage condition, with good colour. I have seen this particular lithograh being advertised for over $1600 on international sites
