VAMP HEADS INTO A NEW ERA _29 May 2020

To our dear customers, suppliers, family and friends

There's no denying that the worldwide lockdown has forced retailers big and small to rethink their approach to business, and for Michael and I, this has definitely proved the case.

An online retail platform has always been on the cards - but the time has come to ramp it up and take the leap. We've successfully used social media like Facebook and Instagram as our primary means of communicating with our customers for years so this move really does feel like a logical progression. We launched Vamp in 2009, we've moved once from one end of Albert Road to the other and now we're moving again - just onto the web.

This means that as of 31 May 2020, the bricks-and-mortar Vamp store based in Woodstock, Cape Town will be no longer and instead a brand new online shopping platform will take its place. I will continue as the point of contact for furniture buyers and decorators, while Michael and his team will continue crafting their signature mid-century inspired Vamp pieces and new lines that we will be developing. While the nuts and bolts of the online shopping experience are being finalised, I'll be manning the Vamp experience on Facebook and Instagram.

Over the past few years we've expanded the Vamp brand to include our own mid-century inspired designs and these will be at the heart of the new online business. You'll be able to browse our range of bookshelves, pedestals, sideboards, dressers and lamps, plus a host of new furniture ranges and designs.

Good news for all you vintage fans is that if we find an amazing Mid Century piece (they have a habit of finding us), of course we'll share it with our database of customers and collectors.

Our aim is to continue the unique Vamp shopping as you know it - just in a new online space and we will pull out all the stops to make selecting and purchasing your Vamp piece an utterly seamless experience. While we make this new move we want to thank our incredible customers, suppliers and staff who have supported us along the way, we are grateful to each and every one of you.

We are living in extraordinary times and adapting our focus and working in a more streamlined way is essential to moving into a new era - we hope you'll join us as we make this new move.

All our love, Paula and Michael
