A mid-century G-Plan extendable table in Teak. Designed by renowned Danish
designer IB Kofod-Larsen. G-Plan was a pioneering range of furniture in
the United Kingdom, produced by E Gomme Ltd of High Wycombe. In an attempt to stop losing sales to Scandinavian imports, they hired
their own Danish designer, Ib Kofod-Larsen. He designed a complete new range
for Gomme, G-Plan Danish, in 1962. G-Plans Danish range was aimed at the
top end of the market and are more rare as they were significantly more
expensive at the time than other G-Plan furniture.
The
table extends via 2 external leaves which slot into special brackets either end
of the table and are stored inside the table when not in use.
