I couldn’t believe my eyes when after posting one of these a couple of weeks ago I found another two!!! Believe it or not, they are pretty rare and highly collectable. Vintage Erphila Handpainted Rooster Jugs, made in Czechoslovakia. This colourful Czech Art Deco pottery "Rooster" pitcher was imported to the U.S.A. by Ebeling & Ruess Company in 1920's. The mark most commonly found on this piece is "Erphila", which is the acronym for the above Importer. Although quite scarce, this pitcher is even rarer, because it has the mark of the manufacturer - DITMAR URBACH. The base is marked : Ditmar Urbach, Czechoslovakia, T (which stands for Teplitz factory).
