A ceramic wall plate by Ruscha, marked Ruscha Handgemalt 769 on the underside. The Ruscha company was located in Rheinbach (Germany), and existed from 1905 till 1996. Handgemalt indicates hand applied decoration

These are fairly valuable pieces (they go for between R1200 and R4500 on e-bay) but due to the unfortunate chips on the edges, this one is quite affordable.
